Come begin the New Year on a contemplative retreat in the Ponderosa pines of the Black Forest (one hour south of Denver, 30 minutes north of Colorado Springs). The Benedictine sisters’ house is a well of quiet that stills the mind and leads to deep, magical work. Open the gates: come meditate and write to deepen both practices. All levels welcome. Limited to 12.

High-quality food and retreat lodging. Some single rooms available; other rooms have two beds. Each room has one or two desks, in a small house with a kitchen, living room, and dining room, with many writing spaces. Bring snowshoes or boots for walks in the beautiful woods!
Marilyn Krysl, noted Boulder author of 10 books of fiction and poetry, and Sandra Dorr have been friends for over 20 years. Together with Sarah Hutchinson, a leading Anusara-inspired yoga teacher, they follow a path of daily meditation.
Cost (retreat, lodging, food): $275 ($175 commuters). Registration deadline: 12/28/09 (extended).

Cancellation policy: Retreat & workshop fees are refundable, less $50, up to 30 days before the event's first day; after 30 days, they are not refundable.
Creative writing scholarship
One half-scholarship ($138) available. To apply, please email three pages of prose or poetry, any style, any format, by Dec 8th; you will be notified by Dec. 9th.
